1 Year Ago

One year ago right about this time (2:30 p.m.), we arrived in the Shreveport airport to friends, family and a tv news crew. It was the best day ever. We were so tired from an all-night trip - from Bogota to Miami to Dallas to Shreveport. I can't believe it's been a year. Michael has truly changed our lives but so much for the better. He is a joy to watch as he grows and learns.

Over the past several months, his personality has just blossomed, and he is constantly jabbering and talking. One of his favorite things to say is "Kitty cat? I don't know?" as he looks for Naboo. He still loves to look at books and bring books to me or Ford to sit in our lap and read. He loves Elmo and Abby from Sesame Street. He loves "biiiiiiiig tucks" (aka big trucks) and "choo choo" trains and cows and "hee haws" (aka horses).

We could not have asked for a better baby. Michael turns two on December 4th, and we'll be celebrating!

September 2012

September was a busy month for all of us. Michael is getting pretty good at eating with a spoon, all by himself.

Of course, he likes to ham it up too. ;)

We took a trip to the Tyler Zoo and had a great time!

I thought this picture of me and Michael was so funny - me on the iPad and Michael on the iPhone. ;)

Gram and Pop kept Michael while Ford and I went to some football games. They had a big time just hanging out, playing outside and meeting Blake's friend Bree. Pop lets Michael play outside in the wet grass and dirt in his pj's and slippers. ;)

 

After a long day, it's nice to fall asleep with Gram. ;)

August 2012

I am super behind on blogging! Here's a little of what we were up to in August.

Ford and I took an anniversary weekend trip to New Orleans while Michael stayed at Gram and Pop's house. Gram bought him a hat that he wears EVERYWHERE!







We worked some in the yard with Daddy.

 



 

 



We ended the month with a bang. August 31st was the one-year anniversary of the day we got our referral for Michael. So we celebrated with family, friends, LSU, food and cake!

 

We got this beautiful cake from Aly B's Bakery!

July 2012

July was busy, busy for us! Michael spent a week with Gram and Pop and Uncle Blake. They all had big fun! We blew bubbles and read books with Uncle Blake and went swimming with Pop. Michael loves the pool.

Michael moved up a class at daycare. Here is a picture of him in his new room on the first day. It was harder for Momma than him. ;)

Michael got his first haircut since he's been home with us. It was an experience - he screamed the entire time.

We took a trip to New Braunfels, Texas with the Childers' to meet Uncle Eddie, Aunt Lupita, and cousins Camila and Constanza.
